Which do you use? Cannabis + CBD
How do you consume? Smoke/Vape, Oil tincture, Topicals, Edibles
How long have you been using these products?
I have been consuming cannabis for over 40 years with the last 9 years focusing mainly on therapeutic intentions.
What made you seek out these products? Was there a specific situation?
I was diagnosed at a relatively early age with osteoarthritis. After many years and many medications, a doctor wanted me to control my pain with Fentanyl. I then turned to cannabis. I had been a recreational consumer for many years prior to this and so it was easy to implement and learn about cannabis for therapeutic purposes.
What hesitations or concerns, if any, did you have before starting?
My only concern was maybe stigma. But at that point, I just wanted to function without having the amount of side effects I had experienced for years from pharmaceuticals.
What is the biggest change you’ve noticed since using these products?
My health is so much better. I have also embraced this medicine to the point that I became a certified educator in both Canada and the U.S., implementing consumption and dosing strategies for clients/patients through my company Medical Cannabis Health Services.
Tell us your routine for how/when you use these products.
I ingest daily via tincture, fresh cannabis, teas, etc. I bathe with infused bath salts and smoke in the evenings.
What are your go-to brands or strains (of cannabis)?
I am licensed to grow medically and therefore have approx. 4 favorite strains. They range in all CBD, CBD & THC, and THC alone. Gorilla CBD and Pineapple express are some of my favorites. White Widow is still, in my opinion, one of the best medical strains for pain control.
What advice do you have for anyone looking to use cannabis or CBD products?
If you are going to consume for therapeutic purposes, please consult with a professional. They are able to help dial in your required strains, doses and methods of consumption. If you are not an experienced recreational consumer, please start at low doses and titrate (adjust amounts) slowly. Cannabis is great for recreational consumers, needed for medical consumers and is the most complete vegetable in my garden!
