Meet Liliani Colon, Pennsylvania’s first and only female hemp farmer and processor. She has also found relief from her tough to diagnose medical issues, including Endometriosis, with the help of cannabis + CBD.
Which do you use? Cannabis + CBD
How do you consume?
Edibles, tinctures, smoking, and topicals
How long have you been using these products?
More than five years.
What made you seek out these products? Was there a specific situation?
In 2010, I started experiencing unexplainable, horrifying health issues. For the longest time, doctors couldn’t pinpoint my condition; I felt hopeless and depressed. After numerous ER visits, surgeries, and years of trial and error with medications, I was finally diagnosed with Endometriosis and Irritable Bowl Syndrome (IBS) and forced to be on medications for the rest of my life. Then, in 2013, after hours of research, my dad found a physician hours away in Rhode Island who introduced him to CBD oil— the game-changer that finally started to give me relief and a better quality of life.
What hesitations or concerns, if any, did you have before starting?
I was never into cannabis growing up, but when my dad suggested it, I was willing to try anything. I was already on three different narcotics for pain in pill, liquid, and suppository form. I also had a pill for my depression, a pill for my anxiety, and a pill for all the nausea that was brought on by the other pills. So why not just try it? I am incredibly grateful that my dad introduced me to the miracles of this plant because it has truly changed my life for the better.
What is the biggest change you’ve noticed since using these products?
I am no longer symptomatic! I do not have painful episodes anymore. And if I do, I am able to control my symptoms with my Cannablyss CBD products, which are made from our hemp farm here in Pennslyvannia.
Tell us your routine for how/when you use these products.
I used to use the oils all day, every day, to manage my symptoms. But now that my symptoms are under control, I micro-dose myself. I’ve built up my endocannabinoid system to the point that I don’t need it as often. However, I keep the oil on hand in case of unexpected flare-ups or emergencies.
What are your go-to brands or strains (of cannabis)?
Of course, the products I create from our farm for Cannablyss are my go-tos!
I use Kina CBD tincture for daily maintenance – I create a 3000mg tincture for my severe abdominal pain related to my endometriosis and IBS diagnoses.
I use “The Wife” strain of flower for instant relief— helping with my anxiety and nausea.
I use our 1000mg Roll – on or cooling gel topical for pain relief on my shoulders and knees and as a pre and post workout remedy. I also enjoy the fact that they are TSA friendly, so I can easily travel with them.
For my skincare, Lulu 500mg face serum helps with all of my breaks outs and dark spots.
And for my furry friend, I use Canary 500mg pet tincture to help with everything from anxiety to arthritis.
What advice do you have for anyone looking to use cannabis or CBD products?
My advice is to find trustworthy CBD products by researching reputable brands. Also check for third-party testing, know your state’s laws, and read customer reviews to ensure quality and effectiveness.
On our website, we have a ‘suggested dosage chart’ that goes by your weight and the severity of your symptoms. I suggest you always start at a low dose and keep a journal of your experiences so it can help you fine-tune your ideal dosage. With this personalized approach, you can confidently ensure safety and effectiveness in your journey to wellness.
